Here is a description of what is required to be done when transferring a domain to Truehost. Please read the following instructions carefully
NOTE, MOST DOMAINS ARE SIMILAR IN THEIR TRANSFER PROCEDURE, HOWEVER, We insist that you read out these instructions carefully.
- DETERMINE WHAT EXACTLY YOU ARE TRANSFERRING.
You first need to determine if you are transferring just the domain or both the domain and its files (This is include website files and EMAILS).
If it is just the domain check out
Step TWO only
IF it is both, Check out step two and the following steps onwards
- FOR DOMAIN TRANSFER
If you are transferring the domain name only.
You will need to know the following:
1. Your domain extension or the TLD(TOP LEVEL DOMAIN) such as
.com, .org, .co.ke, .com.ng, .net, .info, .buzz, .co.za …ETC
determine how you will transfer your domain and how long it will take.
2. Most international domains such as .com/.org/.net/.info take approximately 5-8 days depending on the registrar.
Other domains that have this characteristic include but are not limited to .com.ng, and .africa.
So what is required???
To transfer your domain you will need:
1. An EPP Code also known as an Auth-Code, Authorization code, Transfer code, or Auth-Info Code.
The EPP CODE is acquired from the current/soon to be prior Registrar.
*That is means not truehost because you are transferring in*
However, this is with the exception of domains such as:
.CO.ZA, which only need an authorization email to transfer the domain.
2: Make an order at TRUEHOST.
After you have the EPP code you will need to make an order at truehost website. It can be on either of the following links depending on your location.
You will see Store (a drop down list) there at the NAV-BAR. At that list you will see transfer a domain to us at the bottom
You will see Transfer a domain on the left hand side if you are already logged in to your account with us.
3: (OPTIONAL) Notify the Agent on the CHAT/LET’S TALK PLATFORM, to help verify your EPP code.
You might need to offer up your domain.
- FOR FILE TRANSFER:
For FIle transfer you will need to provide:
1. WORKING CPANEL/SERVER/VPS/WHM CREDENTIALS.
—- This will be required to ensure that we are able to access your files on the CPANEL or Server.
The credentials will be provided on the CHAT/Let’s Talk PLATFORM OR WHATSAPP OR VIA MAIL To [email protected]
–>IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO ACCESS YOUR SERVER, WE ARE ALSO NOT ABLE TO. THEREFORE FILE TRANSFER CAN NOT BE DONE
—> IF YOU DO NOT PROVIDE THE CREDENTIALS ALSO THE FILE TRANSFER CAN NOT BE DONE
- Verify or allow an agent to verify that the credentials are working.
- WAIT FOR A TICKET TO BE GENERATED FOR THE TRANSFER.
If you have submitted your credentials via the Chat/Let’s Talk/Tawk or WHATSAPP to platform.
Kindly wait for a ticket to be generated for the transfer by the agent. Please be patient for this as it might take a few minutes.
If you have submitted the Credentials via Mail (to [email protected]).
Kindly wait for an auto-generated ticket to be provided via mail as a reply to the mail you have sent.
***If the ticket does not arrive in 2 hours time, join the chat platform or WhatsAPP and provide the credentials then ask for one to be generated for you*****
- KINDLY CHECK IF THE FILE TRANSFER HAS BEEN COMPLETED — WITHIN 24 HOURS.
File transfer is done within 24 hours therefore kindly schedule 24hours with you and alert all relevant stakeholders on this.
***AFTER FOLLOWING THESE STEP, KINDLY WAIT FOR THE DOMAIN AND FILES TO BE TRANSFERRED***
