‘Schedule Maintenance’ Message in WordPress

‘Schedule Maintenance’ message In WordPress

Whenever WordPress plug-ins are getting updated, normally a pop-up message appears claiming the site is unavailable and this blocks the site access temporarily. This is an alert meant for visitors browsing your website page at that particular time. This creates a maintenance file in the root of the directory.Once the update is over the message on the display disappears and the accessibility of the website is back and active.

To prevent the message pop up you can delete it by following the steps below;

  • Log in the cpanel
  • Click on the file manage
  • Navigate to settings on the tool bar above-click webroot- click go
  • Choose maintenance file and click delete
  • Open WordPress again and the main page will be displayed. A message will show that it has failed to automatically update.
  • Hyper-link the messages
  • click update now and this message is done away with.
