What is an .htaccess file? #
.htaccess is a configuration file you can use to control some behaviour and security settings on Apache-powered websites. The file includes directives, or configuration rules, that are read by the web server and must be named .htaccess, including the period at the beginning. Depending on which applications you’re using with your website, you may have more than one .htaccess file, although there can be only one in each directory.
To locate .htaccess files in your cPanel:
1. Log in to cPanel and go to File Manager
2. Click Settings in to right corner
3. Select Show Hidden Files option and Save
4. Now, all .htaccess files will be visible
