You can obtain back up for two reasons:

• To restore in case an update goes wrong

• To transfer to a new host

When obtaining back up for restoring purposes, kindly use partial back up: this means files will be a separate back up on home directory, the database will be also separate and emails will be separate.

It is recommended to facilitate restore process of back up files.

Full back up is recommended for those transferring to a new host:

Partial Back Up

1.Login to cPanel

2.Under Files section, go to Backup icon

3. Scroll down to Partial Backups

4. You can then select Website files backup by clicking Home Directory, or database backups or email Backups etc

Full Back Up

1.Login to cPanel

2. Scroll down to Backup in File section

3. Click Download a Full Account Backup

4.Click Generate Backup and allow some minutes for backup to generate. You can enter your email on the Email Address field to get notified once backup is done.
