Announcing Change of Nameservers

We are pleased to announce that we now have new nameservers for our cPanel shared hosting infrastructure.

The new name servers are as follows:

ns1.cloudoon.com
ns2.cloudoon.net
ns3.cloudoon.org

NOTE: The ns2 and ns3 nameservers have been updated to use cloudoon.net and cloudoon.org domains respectively.

Why this is important

This is important to ensure highest availability in case any one registry experiences an issue that would cause its domains not to resolve. In such a case, using diverse name servers as above ensures your service availability as the issue with the affected domain is resolved.

Updating to the new nameservers

For all domains registered with us, the update of nameservers will be handled by us and no action will be required from client side.

For domains not hosted with us, clients will need to update the nameservers at their respective domain registrars.

FAQ

Below are some questions asked about the change above

1.Do I need to make any changes on my domain’s nameservers?

If the domains are registered with us, no action is required from you. If however the domain is registered elsewhere, you will liase with the current registrar to change nameservers for you

2.Are other DNS records affected?

No. Any custom DNS records that were there on the old nameservers were perfectily moved to the new nameservers. Therefore no further update on DNS will be required.

3.Must I change my nameservers?

No. The old nameservers are still active and can be used. However, for reasons explained above, we strongly recommend you change nameservers to the new ones.

4.Which services are affected by this change?

Only cPanel shared hosting is affected. Clients using VPS hosting and Windows shared hosting are not affected for now.
