How to take Screenshots on different Operating Systems.

Screenshots in our case scenario come in handy when one gets error messages and needs help from our support team. Here are a few tips on how to take screenshots on different operating systems.

How to take screenshots on Windows OS. 

Alternative 1:

-Press CTRL+ PRINT on your keyboard. This will capture your current screen.

– You’ll need to paste it on an editing application and then save it as a .PNG or .JPG file on your computer.

Alternative 2:

– You can download applications that can take screenshots such us Snipping Tool or PicPick among others.

How to take screenshots on Linux OS.

Linux has many distributions and GUI (Graphical User Interface), hence taking screenshots varies with the different distributions.

Alternative 1:

-The Gnome GUI has an in-built tool for taking screenshots and can be accessed through Applications/Accessories/Take Screenshot.

Alternative 2:

-Press the “Print Screen” (PrtSc) button on the keyboard.

– Press Alt+PrtSc to take a screenshot of the active window only.

-The screenshots will be stored in the pictures folder.
