How To Backup A Website At Godaddy

Your site is continuously saving your changes and creating backups after significant modifications like altering your theme, removing a section, or resetting your site.

This automated process ensures the safety of your content and settings. However, for added precaution, you might consider creating a manual backup as well. This way, you have an extra layer of protection and peace of mind, knowing that your website’s data is safeguarded.

Please take note that when you generate a backup of your website, it solely encompasses the sections, text, and settings within your site. It’s important to understand that this backup does not encompass other elements of your account, such as blogs, marketing emails, products, appointments, or images.

  1. To begin, navigate to your GoDaddy product page and locate the section labeled “Websites + Marketing.”
  1. From there, click on the “Manage” option adjacent to your specific site, which will open it within the site management interface.
  1. Once inside, you can access the website builder by selecting either “Edit Website” or “Edit Site” – these options will grant you entry to the intuitive website editing platform.
  1. Next, locate and click on the “Settings” tab, typically positioned in the upper toolbar or menu. This will reveal a range of configurable options for your website.
  1. Within the Settings menu, find the “Site History” option and select it. This feature allows you to view and manage the history of your website, including the ability to create backups for added security and peace of mind.
  1. To create a backup of your website, simply click on the “Create Backup” button within the Site History section. This action will trigger the backup process, ensuring that a comprehensive copy of your website is securely saved.

After successfully generating a backup, you have the flexibility to perform various actions on it. Whether you wish to rename the backup, delete it entirely, or restore it to its original state, you have complete control over these options.

This empowers you to manage your backups according to your specific needs and preferences, ensuring a seamless and secure backup management experience.
