Truehost Cloud is committed to providing seamless, effortless, and downtime-minimized website migrations. To perform a migration, we require login credentials for your source (old) server. This policy outlines our guidelines, services, and expectations for the migration process.
1. Policy Scope
This policy applies exclusively to data migrations to Truehost Cloud. We do not transfer data from Truehost Cloud to other service providers. For outbound transfers, please contact the support team of your new provider.
2. Free Migration Services
We offer complimentary migration services under the following circumstances:
- Inbound Migrations: Moving your website from any external hosting provider to Truehost Cloud, regardless of the source platform.
- Server Upgrades: Migrating between Truehost-managed servers due to a service upgrade (e.g., from Shared/Reseller hosting to a VPS or Dedicated Server).
- Addon Domain to New Account: Migrating an addon domain to a new, separate cPanel account after purchasing a new hosting package for that domain.
3. Paid Migration Services
Migrations are subject to a fee in the following scenarios. If you prefer not to pay, we provide a comprehensive step-by-step guide for self-service migration.

We strive to complete all migrations within the estimated timeframes below. Please note that these can be affected by factors outside our control, such as source server performance or backup restrictions.

5. Migration Limits & Associated Costs
The following limits apply to our free migration service. Exceeding these limits will incur the fees listed below.

- Repeated Migration (after the first free one): $10

6. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- How many free migrations do I get?
Migration is provided for free once per eligible service. Any subsequent migration will be treated as a repeated migration and charged accordingly. - Are the estimated migration times guaranteed?
While we meet the estimated times in 99% of cases, some factors can cause delays. These include source hosts disabling backup features, slow HDD storage on the source server, or large account sizes. We will keep you updated via support ticket in such cases. - Can you transfer a site from a subdomain to an addon domain within the same cPanel for free?
Yes, this type of transfer is performed free of charge. - What if I can’t migrate myself but don’t want to pay?
We highly recommend our Paid Migration Service for a hassle-free experience. However, we provide detailed knowledge base articles to guide you through a self-service migration. - Can Truehost migrate an expired service to an active one?
No. An expired service must first be renewed before its data can be accessed for migration. - Do you offer remote desktop support (e.g., AnyDesk/TeamViewer) for migrations?
No. Our support model does not include remote connection to client computers. We require direct server credentials or a link to accessible backup files (e.g., Google Drive).
7. Pre-Migration Checklist
To ensure a swift and smooth migration, please:
- Submit a Ticket Correctly: Log your migration request under the “Transfers Department”.
- Verify Credentials: Test all source server login details before sending them to us to avoid delays.
- Disable 2FA: If your source server has two-factor authentication (2FA), please disable it temporarily. If that’s not possible, provide us with backup codes.
8. Important Disclaimer
- Platform Compatibility: Due to the vast number of hosting platforms, it may not always be possible to migrate data from certain proprietary systems (e.g., Wix, Olitt). In such cases, we will notify you and recommend a path forward.
