WordPress is installed first locally to test the themes provided and to ensure the wordpress to be hosted is presentable.<\/p>\n

What you require in this process will be: computer,wamp\/xampp,webbrowser,internet connection.<\/p>\n

Local Installation<\/u><\/p>\n

Connect to the internet and download WAMP from its official website at http:\/\/www.wampserver.com\/<\/a> as an exe file.<\/p>\n

To install it click on exe file you downloaded and by use of the wizard, install it step by step each time by clicking Next<\/strong> button<\/p>\n

Select I accept the agreement to successfully install it.<\/p>\n

Choose the directory you want to install it on your computer e.g disk C<\/p>\n

Select the additional tasks you would like for the wamp such as shortcuts to access it<\/p>\n

Click install button so that the files can be extracted to the directory you selected.<\/p>\n

Choose the web browser you normally use as your default browser, thus wamp will always open with this browser.<\/p>\n

For set up of PHP Mail server leave them as they appear and click next.<\/p>\n

Click finish to complete set up.<\/p>\n

Click launch wamp server to start it for use.<\/p>\n

Go to your browser again and download the wordpress from the website www.wordpress.org<\/a><\/p>\n

Open the directory you installed wamp and copy the downloaded wordpress \u00a0to this directory, then right click on the folder and select \u201cextract here\u201d to install wordpress under wamp server.<\/p>\n

Make a copy of the folder and rename it.<\/p>\n

Now to access the local server where you will create your database, type on your browser localhost\/phpmyadmin<\/p>\n

On top you shall see database, select the database option and create one for your wordpress by clicking create new database,add the name of your database then click create button<\/p>\n

Then on a new tab,on your browser type localhost ,select the WordPress folder\u00a0 under the classification your projects.<\/p>\n

Create a wp-config.php file by clicking create a configuration<\/strong> file button<\/p>\n

A page with welcome to WordPress message appears,click Let\u2019s go<\/strong> button on it<\/p>\n

A form appears that has spaces to fill the database details\"wp\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Fill in the database name as you had created on local server, username should remain as root,<\/p>\n

database host as localhost and\u00a0 click submit<\/strong> button<\/p>\n

fill in the information needed such as\u00a0 Site title, username, password, your email address and\u00a0 privacy then click install WordPress <\/strong>button.<\/p>\n

You will receive a success message to indicate successful WordPress installation locally.<\/p>\n

To install it on Cpanel online for it to be accessed by public\u00a0 through the domain name you acquired e.g testing.com<\/p>\n

Go to your Cpanel by writing on the web browser \u201cyourdomain name\/CPanel \u201c e.g testing.com\/cpanel<\/p>\n

To upload the files go to Files category and Click on the \u201cFile Manager\u2019\u2018 icon<\/p>\n

Select the directory as\u00a0 public_html or www directory<\/p>\n

Click\u00a0\u00a0 on\u00a0\u00a0 \u2018Upload\u2019 link\u00a0 upload for fast upload of files<\/p>\n

Use Filezilla FTP \u00a0upload method.<\/p>\n

FTP upload using FTP Client <\/u><\/p>\n

Open an FTP client software like FileZilla (if already installed, download for free and install if not) from your computing device<\/p>\n

Login with credentials provided<\/p>\n

Host: yourdomain.com \u2013e.g testing.com<\/p>\n

Username: your Cpanel username<\/p>\n

Password: your Cpanel username<\/p>\n

Port: 21<\/p>\n

The click Quick connect button<\/p>\n

It\u00a0 will\u00a0\u00a0 open\u00a0\u00a0 your\u00a0\u00a0 hosting\u00a0\u00a0 account\u2013on the right side<\/p>\n

Click on public_html or www folder to go to the public_html directory<\/p>\n

On the left panel is the location of website on your computer yourwebsitefiles confirm on the left panel you can see your website files and folders<\/p>\n

To select all your your website files, use the function by holding together the \u201cCtrl+A \u2018\u2019buttons on keyboard<\/p>\n

Right click\u00a0\u00a0 on\u00a0\u00a0 them\u00a0\u00a0 and\u00a0\u00a0 choose\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0\u00a0 option\u00a0\u00a0 \u2018upload\u2019<\/p>\n

Upload of files start, if it times out choose an option Resume to upload files in the queue incrementally<\/p>\n

When you see a message of successful \u2013disconnected from the server<\/p>\n

Then go to cpanel again, under Database section click MYSQL wizard this will enable you create database name and users for the database.<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. To Create a Database<\/strong> enter the database name and click Next Step.<\/li>\n
  2. To Create Database Users<\/strong> enter the database user name and the password. Make sure to use a strong password, for best passwords generate using password generator.<\/li>\n
  3. Click Create User to Add User to Database,<\/strong><\/li>\n
  4. To add privileges to users created, select the checkbox All Privileges<\/strong> and click Next Step.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Note down the database name, username and password for reference.<\/p>\n

    To upload the database online , Go back to cpanel home page and click the PHPMyadmin <\/strong>icon<\/p>\n

    It opens and on left hand side you shall see the database name of the database you created<\/p>\n

    Click on the database, and on top bar click Import option<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Click browse <\/strong>and select the location of your database for the wordpress (database should be .sql or .zip) then click go to import the database.<\/p>\n

    On successful upload you shall receive a message stating you successfully uploaded the files.<\/p>\n

    Go back to cpanel home page ,under FILES<\/strong> section,and click the File manager<\/strong> icon<\/p>\n

    Open the files you uploaded and select the wp-config<\/strong> file<\/p>\n

    Edit the database connection or config files of your website to reflect the new database name, new database user, new database password. Maintain the server as \u201d localhost\u201d<\/p>\n

    Then save the changes.<\/p>\n

    You successfully installed your wordpress.<\/p>\n
