It connects several services: a domain reseller account, a hosting server, payment providers, and your own domain and branding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most setup problems come from one of two things: a <strong>missing key<\/strong>, or a <strong>key from the wrong account<\/strong>. You can avoid both by reading through everything in this guide before you start. Do this once, and every later setup goes smoothly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Before you begin, ensure:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You have a welcome email from your provider (or the person who installed the panel).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access to the email address you use to log in to your Truehost account.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>About 30 to 60 minutes. Some items, such as payment go-live approval, can take longer, so start those early.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You do <strong>not<\/strong> need all sections below. Only gather what you plan to use. For example, if you will not move from WHMCS, skip that section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Key terms<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td><strong>Term<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>Meaning<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>API key<\/strong><\/td><td>A long, secret code that lets one system (your panel) talk to another (for example, Truehost) on your behalf. Treat it like a password.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Sandbox\/test keys<\/strong><\/td><td>Practice credentials that let you test without moving real money.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Live\/production keys<\/strong><\/td><td>Real credentials that process real payments.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>A record<\/strong><\/td><td>A DNS setting that points a domain name to a server&#8217;s IP address.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>SSL certificate \/ HTTPS<\/strong><\/td><td>The security layer that makes a web address start with https:\/\/.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>SMTP<\/strong><\/td><td>The system your panel uses to send emails such as invoices and password resets.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Nameserver<\/strong><\/td><td>A server that tells the internet where your domain&#8217;s records live.<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>WHMCS<\/strong><\/td><td>A billing and client management platform. You only need it if you are moving customers from an existing WHMCS setup.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are the requirements that one should have to successfully connect to Truehost Reseller Panel: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1. Your Truehost Reseller Panel<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td><strong>What you need<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>Where to get it<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>Why you need it<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Admin area address and login<\/strong><\/td><td>Your welcome email from your provider, or whoever installed the panel. The admin area is at https:\/\/&lt;your panel&gt;\/admin<\/td><td>Used in every guide<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>The address your customers will use<\/strong>, for example billing.yourbrand.com<\/td><td>A domain or subdomain you own. Point it at the panel server with an <strong>A record<\/strong>, then ask your technical contact to set it as the panel address (called APP_URL) and issue an SSL certificate<\/td><td>Needed for white labelling (showing your brand, not ours)<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>A working email account to send from (SMTP)<\/strong><\/td><td>Your email provider. Collect the SMTP host, port, username and password. Example sender: noreply@yourbrand.com<\/td><td>Lets customers receive invoices and password resets<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>HTTPS is required because Card gateways, M-PESA callbacks, and Paystack webhooks only work on an https:\/\/ address that the internet can reach. Do not skip the SSL certificate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. Domains: the Truehost Domains Reseller API<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You need this section if you want to <a href=\"https:\/\/truehost.com\/support\/knowledge-base\/how-to-set-up-domain-pricing-in-the-truehost-reseller-panel\/\">sell domain names<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td><strong>What you need<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>Where to get it<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Truehost Client Area Site<\/strong><\/td><td>The Truehost website where your reseller account lives and where you log in. Examples: truehost.co.ke, truehost.com, truehost.cloud, truehost.co.za, truehost.com.ng<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>API Username<\/strong><\/td><td>The email address you use to log in to that Truehost site<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>API Key<\/strong><\/td><td>Log in to that site&#8217;s client area, open the <strong>Reseller Area<\/strong> section, then choose <strong>API settings<\/strong>. If you do not see this section, ask Truehost support to enable domain reselling on your account<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Account balance<\/strong><\/td><td>Top up your reseller balance on the same site. Every registration, transfer and renewal is paid from this balance<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Each Truehost site keeps its own reseller accounts, keys and balance. A key from truehost.co.ke does not work with truehost.com. Make sure the site, username, key, and balance all come from the <em>same<\/em> site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You know which Truehost site your account is on, and you have the username, API key, and a funded balance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3. Hosting server<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You need this section if you want hosting accounts to be created automatically when customers buy. Your hosting provider will give you one of the following server types.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td><strong>Server type<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>What you need<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>Where it comes from<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>cPanel\/ WHM<\/strong><\/td><td>Server hostname, WHM username, and an <strong>API token<\/strong><\/td><td>In WHM, go to <strong>Development \u2192 Manage API Tokens<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Panelica<\/strong><\/td><td>Hostname, <strong>API Key<\/strong> (starts with pk_live_) and <strong>API Secret<\/strong> (starts with sk_live_)<\/td><td>In the Panelica panel, go to <strong>Settings \u2192 API Keys<\/strong>. Create an app for testing, then use <strong>Go Live<\/strong> to get production credentials. Make a test payment, confirm it works, and only then switch to live keys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>M-PESA go-live needs approval and extra roles. Start this early so it does not delay your launch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong>For each payment method you will offer, you have the full set of keys listed above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>5. The prefix is tbl unless it was changed<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><strong>Remote database access<\/strong><\/td><td>The WHMCS database must accept connections from the Truehost Reseller Panel server&#8217;s IP address. In cPanel, open <strong>Remote MySQL<\/strong> and add the panel server&#8217;s IP. Brand assets<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>These make the panel look like <em>your<\/em> business. They are used when you white label the panel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Logo:<\/strong> PNG, JPG, SVG or WebP, maximum 2 MB. A wide logo about 30 px tall works best in the header.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Favicon:<\/strong> PNG, ICO or SVG, maximum 512 KB, and square.
