{"id":17273,"date":"2024-11-15T10:44:14","date_gmt":"2024-11-15T10:44:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/truehost.com\/support\/?post_type=docs&#038;p=17273"},"modified":"2024-11-15T10:44:15","modified_gmt":"2024-11-15T10:44:15","password":"","slug":"composer-detected-issues-in-your-platform","status":"publish","type":"docs","link":"https:\/\/truehost.com\/support\/knowledge-base\/composer-detected-issues-in-your-platform\/","title":{"rendered":"Composer detected issues in your platform"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You may encounter the following error working with Laravel, or PHP applications in general: Composer detected issues in your platform:\u00a0<strong>Your Composer dependencies require a PHP version &#8220;><\/strong>=php version number<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"146\" src=\"https:\/\/truehost.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/image-324-1024x146.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17276\" srcset=\"https:\/\/truehost.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/image-324-1024x146.png 1024w, https:\/\/truehost.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/image-324-300x43.png 300w, https:\/\/truehost.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/image-324-768x109.png 768w, https:\/\/truehost.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/image-324.png 1215w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This guide provides a workaround on this issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cause:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Lower PHP version on your server. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Explanation.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>On our shared hosting servers, the servers are configured to work with a specific global PHP version. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This Global PHP version is used to run other services on the server. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This version is different from what you see on cPanel interface. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your application may say composer requires php 8.3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So you decide to change the version on cPanel but the changes are not effected. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"326\" src=\"https:\/\/truehost.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/image-322-1024x326.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17274\" srcset=\"https:\/\/truehost.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/image-322-1024x326.png 1024w, https:\/\/truehost.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/image-322-300x95.png 300w, https:\/\/truehost.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/image-322-768x244.png 768w, https:\/\/truehost.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/image-322.png 1107w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The reason is that your composer checks PHP CLI which may still be lower as below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The PHP CLI on a server below is 8.2<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"129\" src=\"https:\/\/truehost.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/image-323-1024x129.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17275\" srcset=\"https:\/\/truehost.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/image-323-1024x129.png 1024w, https:\/\/truehost.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/image-323-300x38.png 300w, https:\/\/truehost.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/image-323-768x97.png 768w, https:\/\/truehost.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/image-323.png 1090w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Resolution\/Workaround.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Unfortunately for our servers, we cannot just change the Global PHP cli version.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However the workaround below can assist to alleviate the error.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can do this by disabling platform check on your <strong><code>composer.json <\/code><\/strong>file for Laravel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To disable platform check, you add this line to <code><strong>config<\/strong><\/code> section of <code><strong>composer.json<\/strong><\/code> file<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><code>\"platform-check\": false,<\/code><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then run these two commands:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><code>composer dump-autoload<\/code><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><code><strong>php artisan config:cache<\/strong><\/code><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once done, you should be able to proceed with your Laravel Application setup without the issue. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You may encounter the following error working with Laravel, or PHP applications in general: Composer detected issues in your platform:\u00a0Your Composer dependencies require a PHP version &#8220;>=php version number This guide provides a workaround on this issue.
