# MX and SPF Records for Cloudoon Mail

This article will help you understand which DNS records you need to add at your DNS host if you are using Cloudoon Mail

Generally, the mandatory DNS records for all emails are MX records and SPF records. DKIM and DMARC records are other popular DNS records used to manage email deliverability.

If you have ordered Cloudoon Mail and you use an Extenal DNS service provider such as Cloudflare, Digital Ocean, Linide etc, follow these steps to connect our domain to Cloudoon Mail

## Create MX records

1.Login to your DNS management platform

2.Add a new record with the following details

| **Name/Host** | **TTL** | **Record Type** | **Value/Destination** | **Priority** |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Type your domain or @ | 3600 | MX | sm1.cloudoon.com | 0 |

Note: If you had a diffrent MX record, you will need to remove that first

3. Save

## Create SPF Record

Add the following SPF record

| **Name/Host** | **TTL** | **Record Type** | **Value/Destination** |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Type your domain or @ | 3600 | TXT | v=spf1 include:_spf.cloudoon.com ~all |

These records are sufficient for your mails to work well. If you need to add DKIM and DMARC records as well, please refer to [this article](https://truehost.com/support/knowledge-base/dkim-and-dmarc-records-for-cloudoon-mail/).
